Privacy Policy

The short version: you put your season in, and it stays yours. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and you can delete all of it from Settings at any time. Video you record never leaves your phone.
Who we are
Orange Slice Soccer ("Orange Slice", "we", "us") is operated by Brian Cariveau, a sole proprietor in Minnesota, doing business as Orange Slice Soccer. It's an app parents and coaches use to keep a record of a youth soccer season — the games, the moments, and a written story of the year. You can reach us at support@orangeslicesoccer.com.
Who uses Orange Slice
Orange Slice is for adults: parents, guardians and coaches, who sign in with their own Google account. It is not directed to children, and children don't sign in or use it themselves. It does hold information about children — their first names, their games, things the adults around them write down — entered by those adults. Most of this policy is about taking care of that. If you're a parent and believe information about your child was added without your permission, email us and we'll remove it.
What we keep
- Your account. Your name, email address and a Google-issued account ID, from Google sign-in. We never see or store your Google password.
- Your team and season. What you enter: team name, players' names, jersey numbers and positions, opponents, dates, tournament names, scores you type in, and the moments you tag during a game (goals, shots, saves, substitutions and so on) with the minute they happened.
- Notes and Moments. Anything you write as a Moment, including your answers to the story questions, saved together with the question each answers.
- Your season story. The story written for you, the previous version (kept so you can undo a rewrite), and the conversation you have with the story editor while shaping it.
- People you share with. Email addresses you add under "Share (View Only)".
- Feedback. Anything you send through the Feedback box.
- Season Pass purchases. Which team a pass was bought for, when, the amount, and Stripe's reference for the payment. Never your card details — see Stripe below.
- On your device only. Your preferred player, whether celebrations are on, and a random device ID used to tell one phone's tags from another's. These stay in your browser.
- Video. Clips recorded with the in-game Record button go straight to your phone's camera roll through your phone's own share sheet. They are never uploaded to us.
- Visits to our front page. When you visit orangeslicesoccer.com without being signed in, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to count visits, see where visitors came from, and whether they went on to create an account. It sets a cookie and records device and approximate-location information. It switches off as soon as you sign in and never runs inside the app, so it never sees your team, your games, your notes or your story.
How we use it
To run the app for you: to show your stats, your season timeline and your story, and to process a Season Pass if you buy one. That's it. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you or your children.
Who else sees it
People you choose. Anyone you add under "Share (View Only)" can see that team's season. Anyone you make a co-editor can see and change it.
Service providers we use to run the app, only for that purpose:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) hosts the app, handles sign-in, stores your data, runs our servers, and provides the front-page analytics above. Data is stored in the United States.
- Anthropic (the maker of Claude) writes and refines your season story. When you ask for a story, a change to it, or story questions, your season's data — players' names, games, tagged moments and your notes — is sent to Anthropic to do that. This only happens when you press one of those buttons. Anthropic's commercial terms do not allow it to train its models on this data, and it keeps it only for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.
- Stripe processes payment if you buy a Season Pass. You pay on Stripe's own checkout page; your card details go to Stripe and never to us. Stripe's use of payment information is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. A season stays in your account, season after season, because keeping it is the point of the app. Our server logs record technical details such as how much story-writing work a request took and any errors — never the content of your season — and are kept for about 30 days.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Your data → Delete my account and data. This permanently deletes every team you created and everything in it — games, tagged moments, notes, stories, story conversations, Season Pass records — removes you from any team someone else shared with you, deletes any feedback you sent, and deletes your sign-in. It happens immediately and can't be undone. Stripe keeps its own record of any payment, as the law requires it to.
If you can't sign in, want a copy of your data, want something corrected, or want us to do the deletion for you, email support@orangeslicesoccer.com. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.
Security
Your data can be read only by your own signed-in account and the people you share with, enforced by our database's security rules, and the keys our servers use to write stories and take payments never reach a browser. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top.
